Attention Users On Version Prior to Templar 5.5.57.25

Please note that this udpate requires you to be on version 5.5.57.25. The update provided here WILL NOT work correctly for your installation if you are running any older version. You will need to update your existing systems to 5.5.57.25 first.

Attention All Users

Updates should be applied to Test or Backup systems first to ensure any environment variables of the system do not conflict with the new update. Only after internal testing has been done should update be applied to a production environment.

If your Templar is running on Java 1.6 currently you will also need to update to Java 1.7 (and add the Unlimited Strength JCE files to it) when you update to this version.

Update Downloads

T6.jar (17.1 MB)

Pre-update Steps:
1. Download the T6.jar update linked above and put a copy on the Templar Server so it is ready when needed for the update.
2. Make a full backup of the Templar Server's directory
3. Make a full backup of the database Templar is using.  This should be done as close to the update as possible so if needed you can roll back and it has the latest information.
4. If your Templar Server is not already running with Java 1.8 download and install Java 1.8 and add the Unlimited Strength JCE files to it.  This Java 1.8 instance needs to be separate from the Java VM that Templar is currently running under.

Update Steps:
1. Shut down the Templar Server service.
2. Replace the current T6.jar with the new 6.0.49.25 version in the Templar Server's base directory.
3. Update the startup script to point to the Java 1.8 instance if it is not already using that version of Java.
4. Start the Templar Service service.

Once the Templar Server is updated and started again we can also apply that same T6.jar file to any Templar Client instances you have installed.  These will also need to move to Java 1.8 if they are not already using that version of Java.
